Following the closure of the Rahmede viaduct due to serious damage to its superstructure, the dilapidated structure was successfully demolished.

The replacement for the Rahmede viaduct is being implemented at record speed as part of a forward-looking infrastructure project. The new bridge consists of two parallel structures, enabling subsequent renovation or renewal while traffic continues to flow. The steel composite superstructures span the Rahmede Valley at heights of up to 70 m and lengths of approximately 455 m. The structure is designed as a steel composite construction with a maximum span of 108 m. Installation is being carried out using the incremental launching method from both abutments, which significantly reduces construction time and ensures rapid completion.

Numerous detailed models of the superstructure design, the substructure design including the foundations, and the calculation of the longitudinal displacement were created using modules from SOFiSTiK AG.
