The highlights of version SOFiSTiK | 2026

CONNECTING INFRASTRUCTURE

With the 2026 version, SOFiSTiK consistently focuses on clear, streamlined workflows for structural analysis and design.

The software is fully BIM-based and enables intelligent coordination – both in bridge and building construction – without compromising on well-integrated interfaces.

The user remains at the center: SOFiSTiK | 2026 offers the flexibility to choose between different platforms for integrated BIM modeling. Planning data can be transferred seamlessly and without loss into an open BIM process for efficient further use.

The new features in the two key application areas – bridge and building construction – are wide-ranging: They include fully graphical design checks for composite bridges, new nonlinear time step methods for dynamic analysis, and a modernized user experience for the Rhino interface.

In building design, SOFiSTiK | 2026 offers enhanced alignment options for analytical elements, along with checkable load takedown outputs and BIM-integrated beam design checks.

    • ULS Design: bending and shear design incl. shift rule
    • SLS Design: Minimum reinforcement, control of cracking and calculation of deflections with consideration of long-term effects
  • Group geometrically similar beams automatically

  • Automatic combinations according to combination rules.

The Beam Design Assistant is part of all three FEM packages.*

Smarter Load Combinations with a New Generation of Tasks

  • Includes three new tasks:

    • Combination Rules for Actions

    • Combination Rules for Load Cases

    • Superpositions for Combination Rules

  • Improved workflow replaces the previous "Combination Rules" and "Superpositioning for Combination Rules" tasks.

Clearer Insights for Buckling Resistance – Eigenvalues Now Visual in the FEA Viewer

  • Visualize BDK eigenvalues directly in the FEA Viewer for more intuitive result checking.

Footfall Analysis – New Workflow for Floor Vibration Sensitivity Checks

  • New analysis tool for evaluating human-induced vibrations on floors caused by walking or running
  • Implements design approaches and loading scenarios for floors and stairs according to SCI P354 and CCIP-016 guidelines
  • Supports multiple excitation types: self-excitation, full excitation, and full excitation with influence radius
  • Comprehensive result tracing and reporting for selected response nodes

For the Footfall Analysis workflow, the package 3D FEM premium* or 3D FEM ultimate/ultimate 50* in combination with either the license BASE-DYN, LIN-DYN or NONL-DYN is required.

Smarter Sustainability Decisions with the Improved Life Cycle Analysis Task

  • Automatic assignment of Global Warming Potential (GWP) to material
  • Connection to the database ÖKOBAUDAT from the German Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB)
    (DIN EN 15804+A1 and +A2)
  • Evaluate project variants by exporting GWP data to Excel.
  • Use the SOFiSTiK-template or your own to create evaluation dashboards in minutes.

The Life Cycle Assessment is part of all three FEM packages.*

Reinforcement (RC) – Clear Drawings and Direct Production Data Output

  • Seamless support for Revit’s new Bending Detail family:

    • Smart dual-mode logic: automatically chooses between “Detail Item” and “Bending Detail” families based on data completeness and standards compliance.
    • Refined selection logic ensures no critical fabrication or detailing data is missed.
  • Reinforcement Revision Management tracks revision history of reinforcement sheets.

    • Difference Lists: Instantly show added, changed, or removed bars between revisions.
    • Summary Lists: Generate full project overviews with combined plans and total reinforcement quantities.
