In cooperation with Entuitive and Grimshaw Architects, Schlaich Bergermann Partner (SBP) used SOFiSTiK to design six steel arch bridges with concrete-steel composite decks for the client, Waterfront Toronto.
Apart from running static analyses and results superpositioning, SBP ran a time history analysis to check deck vibrations induced by pedestrians, traffic, and light rail, ensuring the safety and stability of the bridges.
The attractive bridges now serve as vital connections to Toronto's burgeoning Port Lands development.
