The analytical model of the bridge was prepared in SOFiSTiK software.

The longitudinal box girders, which are 2.75 m deep, were modelled as beam elements as per curvature of the alignment. The stay cables were modelled as cable elements with axial stiffness only. Non-linear analysis was carried out to account for cable sag, transverse wind loading on the cable and its tension-only behaviour. RCC members such as pylon, piles and tie beams were represented by beam elements in the software.

Construction stage analysis was carried out by modelling the various stages of construction, activation and deactivation of loads and elements as per the designed sequence of construction.

Salient features:

  • Span arrangement: 58.24 m + 105.00 m + 51.76 m
  • Curvature in plan: 100 m (radius)
  • Superstructure: Steel composite box girder with cast in-situ deck slab
  • Type of pylon: RCC "Y" shaped pylon with two planes of stay cables
  • Stay cable: Nominal dia 15.7 mm, C/s area 150 mm², saddle at pylon, anchorage at deck level
