Settings

The settings dialog gives you access to the following:

Configuration Template Manager

Here, you can manage the configuration templates for your project. Templates allow you to save different configurations for specific tasks. It is not possible to adjust the SOFiSTiK Standard configuration, but changes can be saved in a user-defined configuration.

Note

Configuration sets are saved to the project. To transfer specific configuration sets, e.g., office standards, to other projects, use the Export and Import functionalities.

Step 1 - Filter Elements

The following parameters are used during Step 1: Filter Elements. They define thresholds for the scheduling of elements:

Name

Description

Unit 1

Beams

Minimum Length

The minimum length of beams to be considered relevant. All beams shorter than this value are unscheduled by default but can be re-added manually to the schedule.

Length

Minimum Width

The minimum width of beams to be considered relevant. All beams thinner than this value are not scheduled by default but can be re-added manually to the schedule.

Length

Columns

Minimum Height

The minimum height of columns to be considered relevant. All columns shorter than this value are unscheduled by default but can be re-added manually to the schedule.

Length

Minimum Section Dimensions

The minimum width of columns to be considered relevant. All columns thinner than this value are not scheduled by default but can be re-added manually to the schedule.

Length

Walls

Minimum Length

The minimum length of walls to be considered relevant. All walls shorter than this value are unscheduled by default but can be re-added manually to the schedule.

Length

Minimum Thickness

The minimum thickness of walls to be considered relevant. All walls thinner than this value are not scheduled by default but can be re-added manually to the schedule.

Units according to Revit settings, to check or change go to Manage > Settings > Project Units where you can also add a unit symbol for easier readability.

Step 3 - Adjust Analytical Model

The following parameters are used during Step 3: Update Analytical Model. They allow to tweak the optimization of the geometry of the analytical model:

Name

Description

Unit 1

General

Maximum Eccentricity of Staggered Columns

Percentage

Element Priority 2

Columns

Offset of column axis from center in either direction.

none

Beam Longitudinal

Offset of beam ends in axial direction.

none

Beam Perpendicular

Offset perpendicular to beam axis.

none

Walls Longitudinal

Offset of wall ends in axial direction.

none

Walls Perpendicular

Offset perpendicular to wall plane.

none

Floor Edges

Offset of floor edges.

none

Adjustment Limits

Columns

Maximum allowed offset of column axis from center in either direction, relative to minimum column section dimension.

Percentage

Beam Longitudinal

Maximum allowed offset of beam ends in axial direction, relative to beam length.

Percentage

Beam Perpendicular

Maximum allowed offset perpendicular to beam axis, relative to beam width.

Percentage

Walls Longitudinal

Maximum allowed offset of wall ends in axial direction, relative to wall length.

Percentage

Walls Perpendicular

Maximum allowed offset perpendicular to wall plane, relative to wall thickness.

Percentage

Floor Edges

Maximum allowed offset of floor edges.

Length

Units according to Revit settings, to check or change go to Manage > Settings > Project Units where you can also add a unit symbol for easier readability.

2

A higher priority means this element is favoured during the optimization. A lower priority means it is more likely to be moved.

These parameters are correlated and get normalized by the tool.

Note

Offset boundaries prevail over element priorities.

Add or remove Shared Parameters to the Revit Document. SOFiSTiK_AMG_Adjusted, SOFiSTiK_AMG_Comments and SOFiSTiK_AMG_Scheduled are mandatory and added automatically during the use of the wizard. They can be manually removed afterwards.

Note

Removing Shared Parameters also removes any dependant filters and view templates. This may impact View Optimization during the process.
