The EUROCODES provide engineers with a general framework for designing structure under seismic action and enable to use of advanced methods (push-over, non-linear time-step analysis, etc.) without giving practical description on how to apply them. Basing itself on a (building) case study, this workshop will go over the difference analysis approaches, from the most simple to the most complex, with focus on practical aspects of their application and on the expected structural optimisations.

 

Thematic:

  • Theoretical and normative background for seismic calculation
  • Optimisation on seismic-prone structures
  • Standard and advanced numerical calculations
  • Case studies and functionalities of finite elements programs (SOFiSTiK and Code_Aster).
