New Servicepacks available !
There are new versions and servicepacks for the SOFiSTiK FEA Version 23, Version 2010, SOFiPLUS(-X) 2010 and SOFiCAD 2010 18.1 available for update via SONAR. Detailed info about each program´s changes can be obtained from the LOG-files.
SONAR offers a nice feature to let you read the difference of your local and the latest log-file on the server before you press the update-button ! Simply use the right-mouse click on one program in the program list and select "change-log".
From this time we will publisch the change log throug a RSS-Feed. Means you subscribe to the feed and get an automatic email once there is a new (beta-) version of a program.

SOFiPLUS (Version 2010): Servicepack 8
The column-head properties input for structural points has been redesigned and activated for the new generation of structural elements in SOFiPLUS. The information about the geometry of a column-head is stored for the automatic punching design within BEMESS. As a completely new feature Attribute-Areas enable the user to modify area element properties (e.g. group number or thickness) via a geometric selection.
BEMESS (Version 2010): Plotting of punching design results
Corresponding to the enhanced input options for column-heads in SOFiPLUS, the punching design in BEMESS has been revised. Especially the design of the column-head itself has been added for all new Eurocodes. Following older BS 8110 the dimension of the column-head is limited. The design reports generated in BEMESS will now include plots of the corresponding punching situation together with important parameters and punching shear reinforcement when necessary. Plots will be generated for all punching points with necessary reinforcement with ECHO PUNC FULL, with ECHO PUNC EXTR all points will be plotted. A CADINP example with several punching situations and column-heads 'bemess7_columnheads.dat' can be found in the folder BEMESS.DAT of the SOFiSTiK installation.
SSD (Version 2010): Enhancements for the analytical halfspace and R/C ULS-design
In order to provide extended nonlinear capability in calculations using the analytical halfspace model (HASE), the explicitly modeled beam elements within the halfspace (Extended Piles) do now allow for a limitation of their foot-pressure. The maximum force can be input within the bore-profile dialog's nonlinear parameters for axial bedding. The bedding properties can then be assigned to structural lines with pile cross-section and will be considered in a nonlinear halfspace analysis with HASE.
The SSD tasks for the R/C design of area and beam-elements do now offer the possibility to control the inclination of the compressive struts in ULS design. In addition to the automatic determination of the appropriate angle, the user may now set a constant lower limit angle for the inclination.
Spring effects in Animator and WinGRAF
In the previous versions any connecting spring element was only displayed in the direction of the connection, i.e. the direction of the spring effect (which can be defined explicitly) was not displayed graphically. The new servicepack versions of ANIMATOR and WinGRAF will display those elastic link elements now with their direction of action (spring symbol) and additionally with lines connecting the spring symbol with the connected nodes. The size of the elements can be scaled in ANIMATOR using the support size slider.
