A new link between Norway and Sweden: the 700-metre-long Svinesund Bridge. The arched bridge over the Idefjord is considered especially graceful and was constructed by simultaneous cantilevering from both banks. The construction process was especially complicated because of the wide span and the strong winds. But the company's own engineers persuaded the client that the design was technically feasible.

The bridge was officially opened after only 36 months of construction. A highlight of the project was the arrival by water and wire hoisting of the 125-metre-long central section.
