| Description: | The output of dynamic calculations performed with ASE (Record EIGE cf.: ASE-Documentation) has been enhanced by the output of the activated masses in percent for each eigenvector. This allows a much more efficient determination of relevant eigenvectors/eigenfrequencies. Additionally ASE puts an auxiliary (very small) stiffness to possibly existing free nodes, which makes the dynamic analysis much more robust especially for larger systems where one can not immediately determine free nodes. This little input file generates a hinged beam with a pin support. Here, the rotational degree of freedom at node 104 is not fixed at all. Up to now this would have caused an error with no results in ASE, but now one can easily verify that the first eigenvalue activates minimal masses and is therefore not to be taken into account. The printed warning gives us an additional help to find the free nodal degrees of freedom. |
