When I use this option, it turns a set of rebars into single rebars. This is understandable when staggered is used, but a huge problem otherwise. An even bigger problem is that using "split rebars" turns the rebars into "free form" and I cannot change the layout. I have to edit sketch and change back the geometry in order to make it again a set, which I have to reconfigure to initial constraints. It looks easier just to create Revit rebars with predetermined length and overlapping rather than use "split rebars". What am I missing?

Hey christi,
I am sorry, but I could not comprehend your issue.

First of all, please make sure you use the right command:
http://www.sofistik.de/documentation/20 ... r_set.html
http://www.sofistik.de/documentation/20 ... rebar.html

You cannot use split rebars in combination with staggered rebars because the command cannot split container. Plese describe your approach more precisely. Which kind of rebars would you like to split? Which version are you using? Please make sure you are working with the current version.
