Hi

I have created a model of a ground concrete slab cast onto soil, using QUAD elements. The slab is subjected to hydration heat and ambient temeperature. I was aiming for a 1D solution of heat transfer (heat transfer only up or down, not to the sides).

picture of the quad elements focusing the concrete slab below:

Temeratures seem to develope the way as expected (nodes at the same horizontal level have the same temeperature). Yet, the effective age seems to be greater in the edges:

I was wondering, what might be the cause for this?

many thanks, Lydia
